AddThis LogoWhy put a bunch of social bookmark links on your page when you can use the AddThis service. It provides a single button to present the user with practically all social bookmarking sites out there. It’s free to use and provides tracking of clicks, which is useful in determining the popularity of pages and articles on your site or blog. Just copy and paste the code they supply when you create an account, to your page or if you have a WordPress blog use the following process to use the AddThis plugin.

  1. Download the AddThis plugin on to your computer and unzip it.
  2. Upload it into your wp-content/plugins directory.
  3. Login into the WordPress blog, click on the ‘Plugins’ tab, and click ‘Activate’

This plugin also supports the stats feature of AddThis. If you want to get bookmarking statistics (e.g. top bookmarked posts over various time periods), open the .php file and set the ‘addthis_username’ variable to, well, your AddThis username.
